At Samples Ames PLLC, we've seen the many ways injury victims suffer after an accident, and we don't want to make it financially impossible for them to get the legal representation they deserve.
This is why we typically handle personal injury claims on a contingency fee basis. Instead of charging for our services by the hour, our fee is a percentage of what we're able to obtain for you, whether by settlement or after trial.
How Lawyer Contingency Fees Work
A contingency fee arrangement offers many benefits to our clients, including:
- No upfront costs. We advance any court costs and filing fees necessary to bring your case to court. After your case is won, a portion of your settlement is used to reimburse our firm for any payments made in the service of your case.
- Percentage-based attorney fees. Contingency fees are based on a percentage of an amount that the attorney is able to obtain for a victim. The amount an attorney can collect ranges from 33-to-40 percent in Texas, and the percentage depends on the specifics of the case and whether the case went to trial or settled out of court.
- No fees for unsuccessful claims. If we're unable to secure a recovery in your case, you'll only be expected to reimburse costs we covered out-of-pocket. You won't owe any attorney fees.
